47 Tucanae - το δεύτερο φωτεινότερο σφαιρωτό του ουρανού

astrovox

47 Tucanae (or NGC 104) is the second brightest globular cluster of the sky and is located in the constellation Tucana, deep in the southern sky. It can be easily seen with the naked eye having an apparent magnitude of 4.1 and being very close to the small magellanic cloud (same field in binoculars - quite a sight!)

I had the opportunity to observe and image this amazing globular cluster at Les Makes Observatory, La Reunion thanks to the help of people from the astronomical association which happily lent me some available equipment.

Shot with a Celestron C8 having a f/6.3 focal reducer and my Canon T4i. Shots used were 15 1-min shots with no guiding and no flats.

My friend Spyros Antonopoulos processed the image, here in the Northern Hemisphere!
