does anybody know of a mirror aluminizing service in greece. i just moved here but i'm in the middle of an ATM project and am struggling to find such services as den katalaveno kala ellenika akoma!

a good way to start here in Thessaloniki is to visit our astronomy club (tel 2310 308686). I am sure someone there can help you with that. I personally don't know of any mirror grinding workshop here. Maybe in Athens but I'm not sure.

I can't give you a specific address at the momment but there are several companies that make sun-glasses, by means of aluminizing (you know the reflective sun-glass type that looks like a mirror). Of course they usually make very thin coatings but I think they could easily accomodate a thicker coating for you. The other option would be shipping abroad.

If memory serves me correctly, there are aluminizing services in the United Kingdom and I believe in Germany too. You may want to check out a copy of the British magazine "Astronomy Now" or do a web search. If you read French or German, there is "Ciel et Espace" and "Sterne und Weltraum" respectively.
