Παλιά σχέδια ισημερινής στήριξης

Παραθέτω φωτογραφίες από σχέδια ισημερινής στήριξης από το παλιό βιβλίο "Standard handbook for telescope making" του Neal Howard.

Η κατασκευή φαίνεται εύκολη όμως το πρόβλημα είναι πως δεν βρίσκει κανείς εύκολα έτοιμους άξονες σε ίντσες και τα αντίστοιχα ρουλεμάν. Έχει κανείς ιδέα αν μπορούμε να προμηθευτούμε από κάπου εδώ στην Αθήνα αυτά τα υλικά;

Το δεδομένο σχέδιο δείχνει να δίνει μια βασική ιδέα για το πώς θα μπορούσε κανείς να κατασκευάσει μια EQ βάση .

Λόγω του ότι η κατασκευή μιας EQ εκτός από την πολλή καλή γνώση της θεωρίας προϋποθέτει και άριστη γνώση - εμπειρία σε μικροκατασκευές ακριβείας

Και χωρίς να θέλω να σε αποθαρρύνω θα σου έλεγα πως για ένα τέτοιο επιχείρημα θα πρέπει να έχεις επαρκείς γνώσεις μηχανουργικών κατασκευών ακριβείας, η έναν αδελφικό φίλο καλό μηχανουργό, και να είσαι διατεθειμένος για πειραματισμούς.

Τα παραπάνω βέβαια ισχύουν μόνο στην περίπτωση που υπερισχύει στο σκεπτικό σου για την κατασκευή, το αποτέλεσμα, και όχι η εμπειρία μιας τέτοιας περιπέτειας που και αυτή τελικά, ανεξαρτήτως αποτελέσματος, πιθανά για κάποιους να αξίζει περισσότερο.

 

Σε κάθε περίπτωση αν το αποφασίσεις σου εύχομαι εκτός από “αξέχαστες εμπειρίες” και άριστο τελικό αποτέλεσμα.

 

Σχετικά με την προμήθεια υλικών θα πρέπει αφού ξεκινήσεις την κατασκευή να ρωτάς συγκεκριμένα για αυτό που ψάχνεις, γιατί , δεν υπάρχει στην Ελλάδα ένα κατάστημα που να μπορείς να τα βρεις όλα .

Η συγκεκριμένη κατασκευή χρησιμοποιεί κομμάτια που υπάρχουν έτοιμα στα βιομηχανικά και υδραυλικά είδη και γι αυτό είναι εύκολη. Το πρόβλημα είναι πως άξονες και ρουλεμάν σε ίντσες είναι πολύ δύσκολο να βρεθούν στην Ελλάδα.

The only place that immediately comes to mind, as to shops in the Athens area, is Reppa Brothers A.E., Kakourgiodikeou 3, Monastiraki, 105 54, Athens. Their telephone number is (210) 417-8882, (210) 413-4474 and (210) 411-8568. Their fax number is (210) 321-7448.

 

I did a quick search on Google for pillow blocks with ball bearings and there is quite a few hits. They can be used for holding the R.A. and Dec. shafts. There must be sizes in Europe for pillowblocks and shafts that fit each other.

 

You can start with the above store and see if they have, can obtain or point you in the right direction in order to find the needed items.

 

Also, I don't know if you intend to make a simple mount for visual use or something quite exotic for detailed work. There are choices, naturally, which are made depending upon the end users needs.

 

I have two of Neal Howard's books and they are great texts. I have his "Standard Handbook For Telescope Making" and his "The Telescope Handbook and Star atlas".

Thanx for the invaluable information.

I also have these two excellent books. The mount will be for visual observation mainly later I may attach some form of motor drive to the RA axis. The worm gear set will have to be made especially for a telescope mount and will be the most expensive part I guess...

When I wrote to you, I was trying to recall the name of an old company, started in 1877, in the US. I just recalled their name-Boston Gear. Their web site is at www.bostongear.com and they have an interesting site. Place you cursor on the tabs at the top of their web site and a drop down menu will appear under each tab. They sell worms and gears among other things and have pdf files that one can download.

δεν θεωρώ ότι η κατασκευή θέλει κάποιες ιδιαίτερες γνώσεις.η κίνηση του ουρανού είναι μία και η λογική της βάσης απλή:ευθυγράμμισε τον άξονα περιστροφής με τον πολικό αστέρα(σχεδόν).Η μόνη λεπτομέρεια είναι να είναι ευθυγραμμισμένος ο άξονας ο οποίος φτιάχνεται στον τόρνο έτσι και αλλιώς με ακρίβεια και ο άξονας αυτός να είναι παράλληλος με το τηλεσκόπιο και παράλληλος στο έδαφος.Την κίνηση ευνοείται ότι θα την δίνει από έτοιμο κινητήρα αλλιώς καλό μέτρημα...

 

σε λίγο θα περάσω και μια περιγραφή αλλά γενικά χρειάστηκα ηλεκτροκόλληση τροχό και τορναδόρο( ) ενώ κάθε λεπτομέρεια την ελέγχω με βίδες πήρα και ένα ηλεκτρικό αλφάδι από το lidl ελπίζω να δουλέψει...

Standard handbook for telescope making Άγι, το γράφω στην αρχική δημοσίευση. Παλιό βιβλίο που αναφέρεται στην κατασκευή τηλεσκοπίου 8" f/7.

Το βρίσκεις μεταχειρισμένο από ΗΠΑ με λίγα δολλάρια. Έχει λάθος στο τεστ foucalt για τον έλεγχο του κατόπτρου. Για αυτό ας συμβουλευτεί κανείς ένα άλλο βιβλίο. Στις τεχνικές κατασκευής είναι άριστο.

Οι άξονες που προτείνει είναι από αυτούς που υπάρχουν έτοιμοι στο εμπόριο και δεν χρειάζεται τόρνος στην κατασκευή της βάσης πράγμα που είναι μεγάλο συν. Το θέμα είναι πως στην Ελλάδα όπως προείπα δεν βρίσκω έτοιμους άξονες σε ίντσες.

If you want a very simple equatorial mount that allows one to manually push the tube in RA, then why not think of making one out of pipe fittings. The well known book "All About Telescope" by Sam Brown and published by Edmund Scientific is a great source for ideas. I do not know if the book is still in print.

-Amateur Telescope Making Vol. 1,2 & 3 edited by Albert G. Ingalls

-Build Your Own Telescope by Richard Berry

-How To Build A Telescope by Jean Texereaux

 

I also have the complete run, 42 issues-if I recall, of Telescope Making magazine that was put out by Astronomy magazine. There are quite a few good articles in the publication.

 

The thre volume ATM books was reissued by Willmann-Bell a few years back and some of the articles were dropped from the original edition which was published by Scientific American-until it was bought out by some Swiss company.

 

Any luck checking out the Boston Gear and Hurst motor sites?

Very interesting topic.

 

As one who has never built an EQ mount but has spoken to numerous people who have - I must say that one of the most important things to remember is that besides having an excellent design (and there are many out there) another MUST is to have a good experienced machinist who CAN execute the work as per specifications.

 

A good design and an experienced machinist are the keys to building an excellent mount.

 

Below is a sample of a 16in telescope and its EQ mount that was built completely from the owner. The construction is comprised mainly of wood and metal - the EQ shafts are steel. This is a HUGE telescope project and setup.

 

The man at the edge of the picture gives you an idea of the scale.
