So meade actually had 16intchers a lot of years ago. I wonder about the image quality

The 16-mirror was a thin mirror.

I found controversial reviews on this scope (and its dob brother) you either hate it or love it. It is impressive though on this gem

Some people found that the tube, which was made out of a neavy paper, fell apart after while. I believe that there were some issues in humid climates. It certainly was a lot of telescope for the money back then. It was quite heavy too.
