The image was taken with an 85 Euro Sony 8.1 mp camera, one of them small pocket jobs. I havn't done anything to the image, it is as it was taken.

Congratulations!!! This photo is really breathtaking... The colors are magical and the sky's very clear! I am a little bit jealous of you... The sea and the Moon make a great twin! This little star below the Moon is Venus or Jupiter?

Yes, your first choice is correct-it is the planet Venus. Glad that you enjoyed the photograph. I have always liked the time between daylight and night for taking photographs, where the colors and light are soft.
