Aπό μια πολύ σύντομη εισαγωγή που είχα κάνει πέρυσι στο σύλλογο. Για όποιον ενδιαφέρεται για μια σύντομη επισκόπηση του έργου του...

Θα ήθελα να δώσετε βάση στα ακόλουθα σύντομα και πολύ αγαπημένα βίντεο, ακούστε τα αποσπάσματα τα οποία αφηγείται ο Carl Sagan προσεκτικά...η ομορφιά στον λόγο του απίστευτη, η ουσία αυτών που λέει σε βάζει σε άπειρες σκέψεις. Πολλοί θα τα έχετε δει αλλά μπορεί και όχι...

Ολοκλήρωσα τη σειρά Cosmos του 1980 και πλέον παρακολουθώ την "The Ascent of Man" του Jacob Bronowski (1973), η οποία ενέπνευσε την εκπομπή του Sagan. Το βιβλίο του Bronowski "Η Εξέλιξη του Ανθρώπου" με είχε εμπνεύσει πάρα πολύ κάποτε και προτιμώ την συναισθηματική του συμμετοχή από την επικοινωνιακή προσέγγιση των τηλευαγγελιστών που προτυποποίησαν οι αμερικανοί.

Αφού το πήρα απόφαση, ακολουθούν τα "Civilisation" του Kenneth Clark (1969), "Life on Earth: A Natural History" (1979) και "The Living Planet" του David Attenborough.

 

Κάτι που με εντυπωσίασε. Ο Steven Soter, τρίτος συγγραφέας του Cosmos, ο οποίος εργάστηκε κατόπιν στο Hayden Planetarium με τον Neil deGrasse Tyson (ο τελευταίος ήταν guest star σε επεισόδιο του "Big Bang" που είδα το Σάββατο, παίζοντας τον εαυτό του"), τα τελευταία 20 χρόνια στράφηκε από την πλανητολογία στην γεωαρχαιολογία, αποτελώντας βασικό ερευνητή μαζί με την Δώρα Κατσονοπούλου, της βυθισμένης πόλης της αρχαίας Ελίκης!!! Χμ, Soter ε; Μήπως ήταν Σωτηρίου ή κάτι τέτοιο;

Όπως είπε ο Sagan η επιστήμη σήμερα δεν είναι υπόθεση ενός ανθρώπου. Φαίνεται πως συνεργαζόταν και δίδασκε (και παντρευόταν όπως είπαμε) με άλλους σημαντικούς επιστήμονες.

Μήπως τον έχετε συναντήσει πουθενά οι κάτω από τ'αυλάκι;
