Al Nagler with Frank and the 13mm Ethos Eyepiece

Πολύ θα ήθελα Frank να είχα ένα τέτοιο προσοφθάλμιο για μια afocal δοκιμή με την Canon στην Σελήνη για δημιουργία μωσαϊκού!!!

Μιας και τον ξέρεις τον Al δεν του λες να στείλει και ένα για δοκιμή σε εμάς στην Ελλάδα??? πλάκα κάνω!!!

Ελπίζω κάποια στιγμή να κατεβάσει το κόστος πώλησης γιατί τα 700€ είναι πάρα πολλά λεφτά, για να μπορέσω να αποκτήσω και εγώ ένα ETHOS!!!

Γεώργο, η τιμή μπορεί να κατεβει ανάλογα με το πώς η αγορά θα δεχετη αυτό το eyepiece.

Ίσως σε μερικούς μήνες θα μπορέσωμε να αγοράσουμε ένα χρησιμοποιημένο Ethos σε "λογικότερες" τιμές -

I'd like to slap that eyepiece on a 25-inch Dob and hope that the view wont blow me off the ladder. I have been using my original 13mm Nagler that I got back in 1984 and it is one nice eyepiece. I still like the original 4.8mm Nagler too. His 19mm and 24mm Widefield series from back then are great too. I especially like the 24mm. I use the 55mm Plossl for low poewer/wide field. The new 13mm sounds like it should be worth every penney of the $620.00 price tag that it carries. Maybe I'll grab one when I go back home for a visit.

Your 13mm Nagler is a wonderful eyepiece, I have the 12mm Nagler (1.25"/2" hybrid) and I have no plans on selling it.

I would have also loved to see the 13mm Ethos on a 25in or larger Dob - maybe soon !!

This 13mm Ethos eyepiece so wide that initially it takes your eye a few seconds to adjust to the field - I found it helps you adjust if you fully extend the rubber eyepiece guard, once adjusted I rolled it back down and marvelled at the view. Once you get used to it you can look away and then back into the eyepiece with no problems - your eye somehow remembers -

At night, I deliberately placed Jupiter and its moons just outside the FOV and waited - there was no Coma as the moons slowly came back into view and Jupiters disk remained nice and sharp.

The eyepiece was used with Al's NP127 Refractor serial #001 which gave us a magification of 51x. I would have liked to test this eyepiece at higher magnifications but there were many other fellow conventioneers anxiously waiting to take a peek.

Looks like Al has another winner !!
