Greetings from Celestron,

In order to improve our ability to reliably test new features for our telescopes and then quickly bring them to market, Celestron has decided to form Team Celestron. Team Celestron is a group of volunteers from the general public that wish to participate more directly in the Celestron development process. Joining the group is completely voluntary and there is no cost to join. If you are interested in joining Team Celestron, please express your interest by using the contact information at the bottom of this letter.

 

You have been chosen to receive this letter of invitation because you filled out your registration card and volunteered this email address for our company mailing list. However, we are starting things off with a period of open enrollment; if you have friends who might be interested in joining Team Celestron, please feel free to pass this invitation on to them. Team Celestron strives to include members from around the world and fluency in languages other than English will be advantageous to the group.

 

You do NOT need to be a telescope expert to join Team Celestron! Indeed, most of our end users are casual star gazers, and we desire to form a team representative of our broad user base. The early goals of Team Celestron will be to test new features within the context of the features you already know and use. Our secondary objective will be to document any errors or deficiencies in existing code. Note: Team Celestron is not the place to go if you are looking to receive technical support on existing features. There are other Celestron resources, such as the Celestron website and Celestron Technical Support, for that.

 

To be involved in Team Celestron you should have the following:

* A computerized Celestron telescope.

* A basic knowledge about how to use your telescope - how to set it up, how to align it, and how find objects in the sky.

* The programming cable that came with your telescope. The software to use the cable will be provided.

* A personal computer on which you can install the software we use. We are focusing on Microsoft Windows and Apple OSX at the moment; but if you use a Unix clone (e.g. Linux) and are willing to do some legwork for us, then that too is useful.

* The desire and the time to use your telescope on a regular basis.

* A desire to download, install, and test new features and bug fixes. Some of this testing will need to be "under the stars". We know that not everyone has clear skies all the time, but it is expected that you will have the time to test many of the updates you receive within 2 weeks of their release to Team Celestron.

 

Benefits of joining the team:

* Access to new features and bug fixes weeks, sometimes months, ahead of when they are released to the general public.

* The opportunity to work with Celestron engineers as they hammer out implementation details before the final release.

* Access to the Team Celestron website where forums will exist to discuss Celestron products, Celestron features, and new ideas.

* The chance to be selected for exclusive hardware beta testing opportunities.

Θα δηλώσεις συμμετοχή; Εγώ μια φορά έκανα αναβάθμιση στο firmware και κόλλαγε, μου έφαγε ώρες μέχρι να το φτιάξω. Ορκίστηκα να μην το ξαναπειράξω, όσο δουλεύει.

Αν δηλώσεις να υποθέσω πως θα έχουμε Nexstarleaks;

Εγώ όχι, γιατί είμαι πολύ αρχάριος ακόμα.

 

Πάντως δεν φαίνεται να είναι κάτι πολύ απαιτητικό, αλλά θέλει να είσαι "γκατζετάκιας" με το τηλεσκόπιο, αν κατάλαβα καλά.

Εγώ έκανα εγγραφή...βγήκε είδη beta tester αναβάθμιση για Cg-5 goto mount 5.17...για να δούμε.Υπόσχεται

This version of the firmware adds Custom Rate 9 feature the ASGT and the CGEclassic mounts. You will need a hand control running a release candidate for version 4.20 in order to access that feature. That will be released to public beta soon.

 

In the mean time, check out the faster quieter goto's.

έκανα και εγώ εγγραφή

 

Έχω ανοίξει συζήτηση για το γνωστό πρόβλημα με τις AS-CG5 και τα "ατελείωτα slew προς το υπερπέραν!!!!" δηλαδή το γνωστό run-away slew

 

Ο τύπος που γράφει τα firmware φαίνεται πρόθυμος να βοηθήσει, άντε να δούμε!!!

 

Πάντως το 5.17 εφόσον είναι σε RC έκδοση μπορείτε άφοβα να το χρησημοποιήσετε, τουλάχιστον εγώ που δοκίμασα τα χίλια μύρια πάνω του

δεν κατάφερα να βρώ πρόβλημα, το αντίθετο, φαίνεται να λειτουργεί πολύ καλύτερα απο το official 5.16

Version 5.20 for the motor control of ASGT and CGEclassic are now available

through MCUpdate.

 

If you have one of these mounts, please give it a try.

This corrects a problem in 5.18/5.19 that caused the motors in these mounts

to warble.
