I went and explored Big Star Optics web site and discovered to my horror that they sell glass solar filters that fit over the eyepiece. These filters are totally unsafe and should never be used. Doing so exposes the observer to the risk of the glass filter breaking from the build-up of excessive solar heat and permanent irreparable eye damage to the viewer.

 

I do not know how to write this in Greek, but if someone could translate it, I would be grateful.

Yes, just about the solar filter.

 

The moon filter is great for the moon-only.

Hey Fred, I have seen similar eyepiece Solar Filters that were supplied with some telescopes from the 50's and 60's - perhaps safety regulations were not as strict or simply they did not know better - but I could not believe that these would even be allowed today !!

Βρε παιδιά από μια ματιά που έριξα στο site τα περισσότερα τηλεσκόπια μου έδωσαν την εντύπωση πως φτιάχνονται από τη synta.

Μήπως δεν πρέπει να αποκλείουμε έτσι γρήγορα ένα μαγαζί ;΄Το καλύτερο θα ήταν να μας έλεγε κάποιος τη γνώμη του για το τηλεσκόπιο που αγόρασε από ' κει.

Πάντα με καλή διάθεση!!!

Δεν αποκλείσαμε το μαγαζί ολόκληρο, αν και από επαφή με τηλεσκόπιά του μου άφησαν αρνητικές εντυπώσεις, αλλά για το επικίνδυνο και ξεπερασμένο φίλτρο που πουλάει και για το οποίο σωστά επέστησε την προσοχή ο Fred.

Εγώ αγόρασα ένα ζευγάρι κυάλια bigstar 12x50 τα οποία είναι ανεκτά για παρατήρηση ημέρας. Για τα χρήματα που έδωσα είμαι αρκετά ευχαριστημένος.

Εξάλλου μια εταιρία τύπου bigstar μπορεί να φτιάχνει φασόν για άλλους και να μην το γνωρίζουμε.
