This is a book that I really enjoyed reading. It was published in 1987. The author talks about the place, institution, people and the astronomy done with the 200-inch Hale telescope. I have the first edition, which is hardbound. I don't know if it is available in a softbound edition. -

Here is a slide of the 6.2-inch f/15 refractor by Ploessl that was originally in the dome of the National Observatory at Athens. At the time it did not have its focuser installed. Slide taken in 1984. -
