Εκρήξεις Supernova και Nova!!

Δημιουργώ αυτό το θέμα για κάθε φορά που έχουμε ένα γεγονός supernova.

Αυτή τη φορά έχουμε ένα νέο supernova το ονόματι 2011by στο γαλαξία NGC 3972. Αναλυτικότερα τα στοιχεία του είναι τα εξής:

 

Όνομα: SN2011by

Γαλαξίας: NGC 3972

Φαινόμενο μέγεθος (αυτή τη στιγμή): 14,2

RA: 11h 55m

Dec: +55 19'

Αστερισμός: Μεγ. Άρκτος

 

Το supernova βρίσκεται κοντά στο κέντρο του γαλαξία και συγκεκριμένα 5,9'' Ανατολικά και 19,1'' Βόρεια από το κέντρο του. Η παρακάτω εικόνα είναι από το DSS και είναι πριν την έκρηξη οπότε μπορείτε να την εκτυπώσετε και να κάνετε σύγκριση με το προσοφθάλμιο.

Discovery Magnitude: approximately 14.2 using a Celestron C14

Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope (+ unfiltered CCD camera) at Mt.

Nanshan

 

 

Position: R.A. = 11:55:45.56 Decl. = +55:19:33.8 (equinox 2000.0)

SN 2011at is about 5.3" east and 19.1" north of the center of

NGC 3972.

 

 

Spectra: Spectra obtained on 2011 Apr. 27.5 UT with the 2.16-m

telescope (+ BFOSC) at the Xinglong Station of the NAOCT by T. Zhang

and Z. Zhou, National Astronomical Observatories of China (NAOC),

and X. Wang, Tsinghua Center for Astrophysics, Tsinghua University,

show SN 2011by to be a type-Ia supernova at a very early phase, about

10 days before maximum.

* Το αστέρι T της Πυξίδας έγινε καινοφανής (nova). H φωτογραφία αυτή των Ernesto Guido & Giovanni Sostero στις15 Απριλίου δείχνει το αστέρι αυτό μία ημέρα μετά την ανακάλυψή του. Ο επαναληπτικός αυτός καινοφανής έγινε ορατός την περασμένη εβδομάδα, πρώτη φορά από τον Δεκέμβριο του 1966. Είναι τώρα μεγέθους 7,5 (στις 22 Απριλίου) και είναι πιθανό να φτάσει σε μέγεθος περίπου 6,4 στις 20 Μαΐου. Είναι ορατός αφού πέσει το σκοτάδι από τα μέσα βόρεια γεωγραφικά πλάτη.

Ο ΣΝ1011by αποτελεσε και το ευνασμα ωστε να σημειωθει προοδος στην ερασιτεχνικη φασματοσκοπια .

 

Ο Buil "επιασε" φασμα !

Δεν ειναι κι ο,τι ποιο ευκολο να πιασεις φασμα απο 14ου μεγεθους αστερα με ερασιτεχνικα μεσα !

Μάνο, παρατήρησες καμιά πτώση στην φωτεινότητα;;

Βασίλη δεν εκτυπώσαμε χάρτες AAVSO (είχα πρόβλημα με τον εκτυπωτή μου δυστυχώς) και δεν κάναμε εκτίμηση. Αν πάμε σύντομα θα κάνουμε εκτίμηση. Πάντως βλέπω ότι έχει ανέβει σε λαμπρότητα κατά 1 mag περίπου. Πιστεύω ότι για κάποιον που κάνει εκτιμήσεις θα είναι πολύ εντυπωσιακό να βλέπεις κάθε φορά και πιο φωτεινό. Εμείς με την 1η ευκαιρία θα κάνουμε εκτίμηση πάντως.

Τι μέγεθος έχει περίπου ;

Παρακάτω είναι μια φωτό από AAVSO το οποίο δείχνει την καμπύλη του. Όπως θα παρατηρήσετε είχε ανέβει περίπου στα 12,8 mag και τώρα είναι περίπου στα ίδια επίπεδα με τις πρώτες παρατηρήσεις.

 

Όσο για το άλλο που ρωτάς δεν είναι supernova αλλά nova.

Τι μέγεθος έχει περίπου ;

Αλέξανδρε δεν ήταν το ίδιο φωτεινό όσο πριν ένα μήνα, βέβαια δεν είχα καλό ουρανό όταν το κοίταξα αφού είχα ένα ελαφρύ πέπλο από σύννεφα από πάνω μου... με αποτέλεσμα να βλέπω τον Γαλαξία οριακά, βέβαια το SN2011by ήταν πιο φωτεινό απο τον πυρήνα του Γαλαξία.

June 1, 2011

 

John Seach (Chatsworth Island, NSW, Australia) has identified a transient object on 3 images taken with a digital SLR camera. The coordinates are:

 

RA 16 55 11

Dec -38 38 12

J2000

 

The discovery magnitude on June 1.40UT was 9.5

No object was seen on images taken the previous night, and no minor planet, comet or variable star is known at that position. He also does not see any DSS object at those coordinates.

 

Confirmation of this object is requested. If you do see a new variable object at these coordinates, continue to monitor it; V-band time series would be useful at this early stage.

Supernova in M51

A new supernova in M51 was discovered by A. Riou and confirmed by several sources, including the Palomar Transient Factory (Silverman et al., ATEL 3398). It is located at

13:30:05.08 +47:10:11.2 J2000

and has a magnitude of about 13.5. Nice images of the supernova can be found at:

PTF also obtained a spectra from Keck, indicating that this is a type II supernova with a relatively blue continuum with P-Cygni profiles in the Balmer series.

 

This is a unique event, because it occurs in a galaxy that is imaged almost constantly. There must be many photos available that show the rise of this SNe, so the data-mining opportunity is obvious. It is transiting at local twilight and should be observable for northern hemisphere observers for several months.

 

A new APASS sequence should be uploaded soon. We recommend taking nightly monitoring images in B and V for CCD observers, along with visual estimates, until the supernova is no longer visible.

 

Here is an excuse to take the 10 millionth image of M51!

Event: NOVA SCORPII 2011 = PNV J16551100-3838120

 

Discovered by: John Seach, Chatsworth Island, NSW, Australia

 

Discovery Date: 2011 June 1.40 UT

 

Discovery Magnitude: magnitude 9.5 on three CCD images (limiting

mag 11.0) taken with a digital SLR camera (+ 50-mm f/1.2 lens

+ orange filter).

 

Coordinates: R.A. = 16:55:11, Decl. = -38:38:12 (equinox 2000.0)

 

Spectra: Three sets of spectra have been reported:

- Obtained by Bernard Heathcote, South Yarra, Victoria, Australia,

through cloud on Jun 2.4896 UT shows H-alpha emission.

- Obtained by A. Arai, T. Kajikawa, and M. Nagashima, Kyoto Sangyo

University, Japan, on 2011 June 2.68 UT using the 1.3-m Araki

telescope (+ LOSA/F2) suggests that the object is a classical nova

in outburst with high interstellar reddening. Spectrum at

http://www.cc.kyoto-su.ac.jp/~kao/blog/index.php/view/98 (via vsnet).

- Obtained by Masayuki Yamanaka and Ryosuke Itoh, Hiroshima

University, Japan, on Jun 2 UT (no time given) with 1.5m Kanata

telescope at Higashi-Hiroshima Observatory. The spectrum exhibits

H-alpha emission; H-beta is not seen because the object is highly

reddened by interstellar material. Spectrum at
